Description

King Brundrik Stonebluff of the Ember Halls is a solidly built dwarf in his early two hundreds, with a rust-red beard braided in gold wire in the old royal style and a miner's shoulders under the finery of the Halls: dark velvet, gold thread, and rings of his family's own work. He wears the mithril crown of his forebears, set with a single fire opal. His smile comes easily, and his eyes look more tired than it does.

Personality

Brundrik is warm, cultured and proud of his people, a generous host who loves the Halls' feasts, music and craft. He speaks of his ancestors with real reverence and can name the deed behind every carved pillar in the throne room. He prefers good news to bad, steers talk away from the siege when he can, and speaks of the goblins as a nuisance that will pass, the way such things always have.

Background

Brundrik inherited the Throne of Ash and Iron from his father, and is named for his grandfather, the warrior king of the saga, who held the Halls through plague, collapse and war. His own reign has been fifty years of peace and plenty. He has never had to fight for anything.
