Description
High Magister Hadrek Vohn is a broad-shouldered man in his early fifties, in his fourth year on the council. He carries himself like the soldier he was for most of his adult life. His Magister robes are cut shorter than tradition strictly allows — closer to a tabard than a robe — and he wears a curved khopesh at his hip in council, an old Sirocco Warden habit no one has ever convinced him to break.
A pale scar runs from his right temple to his jaw, the gift of a sandwraith twenty-three years ago that put him in Lyceum infirmary for a month. His beard is dark and short, his hair greyer than his face suggests.
Role
Vohn rose through the Sirocco Warden leadership, ending as their senior commander before his election to the High Magistrate. His Magister portfolio is military and border policy: dome integrity, warden command structure, the worsening sandwalker raids. He is the council's hard answer.
He still personally walks the inner edge once a week. The Wardens love him for it; some of his colleagues find it theatrical.
Personality
Vohn is direct, profane, and unsentimental. He treats Senate floor debate as a tactical exercise — limited time, finite political ammunition, take ground or yield it. He is patient with juniors and impatient with his peers, which makes him exactly as popular as you would expect.
He does not consider himself a politician and is correct about this in ways that have hurt him.
